Our Ministries

At Riverside, we believe that healthy churches are those that have all age groups from nursery through senior adults. Our pastors and deacons strive equip everyone to serve one another, young and old alike, in many different ways. This can manifest in very practical ministries, such as, our providing childcare during all worship services. But the ministries of Riverside are not geared toward meeting physical needs only, neither are they geared toward entertainment of the saints. The overall goal is centered on equipping all people to follow Christ.

Music Ministry:

Chuck Wilson serves as our Minister of Music and Choir Director. He has served our church in this capacity since 2013. We attempt each week to worship the Lord with the best music from all generations. A week’s blended worship songlist could include music from 1720 or from 2020, or anywhere in between. We enjoy special choir music and cantatas and have groups lead worship services on 5th Sunday Singings during the year. For more information on our music ministry, please contact: chuck@riversidebaptist.church.

Men’s and Women’s Ministry:

Our men’s and women’s groups are very active in the church. The Ladies meet quarterly to fellowship and have discipleship time. There are many Ladies’ service projects during the year as well, such as: exercise classes, sewing groups, and Operation Christmas Child. Social events include the Ladies’ Tea and the annual Ladies’ Retreat. The men of the church fellowship around social events such as ballgames and work days to maintain the church grounds. Bi-monthly, our men also have a prayer breakfast devotional to focus on prayer, fellowship, and discipleship. For more information about adult ministries and events at our church email garrett@riversidebaptist.church or visit the Church Facebook page.

Riverside Student Ministry:

Our church has an outstanding group of students (grades 6-12) currently led by Pastor Garrett & his wife, Jaessa, and Melissa Wilson. This young group has been an absolute blessing in our church. The mission of our student ministry is to glorify God and magnify the name of Jesus by obeying the Great Commission and showing the love of Christ to others. We seek to help build healthy relationships and engagements between students and families while teaching them about the Lord Jesus. The student group meets Wednesday at 6:30-8:00pm for a meal and Bible study in the gym and Sunday Morning (Sunday School) at 10:00am in the Sunday School hallway. For more information on the Student Group, please contact: garrett@riversidebaptist.church and visit the Youth Group Facebook.

Children’s Ministry:

Family worship is an important part of our Sunday church service. Our children (grades K-5) join us in morning worship twice a month, and our church has a great group of children led by Annie Doss and her husband, Bricen. Annie joined us as our Director of Children’s Ministry in November 2021. She has several years of teaching experience in both church and professional settings. She holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and an MA in Teaching from Western Governers University. She resides in Lookout Valley with her husband, Bricen. Our church provides Children’s Church on Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:00pm as well as twice a month on Sunday mornings from 11:00am-12:00pm.
